Tips for Getting Hired in a Digital World

Here are my eight tips for putting your best foot forward when you're interviewing for jobs in today's digital world.

1. Create a business card with your name and interests/passion on it (use VistaPrint.com)
2. Create public LinkedIn and Facebook profiles
3. Put your public LinkedIn URL on your business card
4. Get at least really good three recommendations on your LinkedIn profile
5. Include your public social network profile URLs on your resume
6. Post a video of yourself on YouTube explaining something you're passionate about
7. Clean up public social network profiles to make sure they're safe for work
8. Start a blog on a topic you're passionate about
